Last weekend I was invited to perform as part of the Country Music Hall of Fame 'Western Edge' event. I was pleased to be able to catch up with some of my 'Country Rock' alumni at the shows.

I've added a photo from the Friday night performance with Chris Hillman and the Desert Rose Band to the photo gallery.

It looks as though I may be appearing at the Country Music Hall Of Fame in the Fall as part of a Country Rock exhibit.

There should be more information forthcoming and I will update everyone as we go.

My son Jess came across this concert on YouTube that I though you all would enjoy.

It is from 1991 with Emmylou Harris and the Nash Ramblers at Gstaad in Switzerland.

Last night at the CMT Awards Miranda Lambert was awarded 'Best Female Video' for her song If I Was a Cowboy.

I was honored to play steel guitar on the song, which is Miranda's sixth win in the category, and puts her second only to Carrie Underwood.

I'm sad to report that on July 10th we lost a fine musician, fiddle player Byron Berline.

I met Byron when he was asked to come out and play a Bluegrass portion of a Flying Burrito Bros show, along with bassist Roger Bush and banjoist Kenny Wertz. We performed together at three Ivy League Universities in the NE part of the USA.

Eddie Kramer was our chief recording engineer for all three shows. Selections of which were later taken from each of the shows and became A&M's release of "The Last of the Red Hot Burritos".

Byron can be seen with the FBB's on this clip from the David Frost television show playing "6 Days On The Road". Which, incidentally, was about all the time it took to do the recordings!

Byron owned the Double Stop Fiddle Shop & Music Hall In Guthrie, Oklahoma and founded the Oklahoma International Bluegrass Festival.

A fine gentleman who will be missed by many!
