Leonard Arnold

27th September 2015

Some may not have known Leonard Arnold, but he was a member of a sister band that left Texas with Shiloh for California in 1970. He soon married Kristine, one half of The Sweethearts of the Rodeo, and they had two daughters. Leonard played with several artists including Michael Martin Murphy. Leonard was always a gentle man with good sense of humor and a great friend to many of us.

Since early this year, he battled cancer. He had a 'bucket' list that he got to fill by traveling with an old friend from Austin to see Big Bend, the Smokey Mountains, Colorado and the Grand Canyon. He also had a wonderful group of admirers, friends and fellow players who gathered at the Saxon Pub in Austin, TX to share his music one last time. He passed away in the wee hours with a little smile while sitting in his favorite easy chair.

Leonard and his wife Kristine were also of course principal members of our HiPower band.
