Hi Power Band

It's a rare thing when the stars line up to bring together musicians of this magnitude. Rarer still is when that esteemed group of musicians all thought it was a great idea to step out of the studio and leave behind their touring commitments to dedicate time playing classic blues, rock and R&B songs. When the HiPower Band gets together, be prepared for jaw-dropping entertainment that is fun, energetic, and has the crowd totally in the moment.

Al Perkins' HiPower Band

Al Perkins is A member of the Texas Steel Guitar Hall of Fame, and has his own shining star on Opryland's Star Walk. The reason is simple: He's the best there is. This is why his guitar work has been in such high demand throughout his brilliant career. Al has played with some of the greatest artists in music history, including Bob Dylan, The Eagles, Emmylou Harris, Dan Fogelberg, Dwight Yoakam, Gram Parsons, Dolly Parton, James Taylor, The Rolling Stones, Stephen Stills' Manassas, Tori Amos. The HiPower band is Al's brainchild.

Kristine Arnold got a call from Al in the very beginning to see if she wanted to be center stage with the band as lead female vocalist. Kristine, along with her sister, Janis Oliver, formed The Sweethearts of the Rodeo, which was nominated eleven times for CMA's best duo award. Now, she brings vocal passion and power to HiPower, mesmerizing crowds with her stage presence and incredible vocal style.

In Loving Memory: Leonard Arnold When Kristine was ready to sing a duet, she turned to her husband, Leonard Arnold. Together they brought an unmatched chemistry to songs that bring the house down. A veteran of the Austin, Texas music scene, Leonard joined in on vocals and guitar. He toured and recorded with the likes of Michael Murphey, Jerry Jeff Walker, Steven Fromholtz, and Texas legend, Rusty Wier. He also teamed with Richard Bowden in Blue Steel, a band that toured with the Eagles. Leonard sadly passed away in 2015.

Rick Lonow settled in Nashville in the 80s, after some years building his credentials as a top-tier sideman on the West Coast. He wasted no time doing the same in Music City, finding a place on the first-call list as a drummer for recording sessions and live work with an elite roster of artists. He's heard on records by (or with) June Carter Cash, Billy Joe Shaver, Loretta Lynn, Dierks Bentley, Ronnie Dunn, Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson, Elvis Costello and many more. Lonow's live credits include shows and tours with the likes of Crystal Gayle, Dr. John, James Burton, The Bellamy Brothers and John Prine. Rick can also lay claim to a Gold Record, as a co-songwriter on the Poco hit Call It Love.

Toni Sehulster moved to Nashville in 1970. Since that time, she's dazzled audiences with her expertise on the bass, touring with Ray Stevens, Waylon Jennings, Lynn Anderson, Cowboy Jack Clement and renowned blues artist Tracy Nelson. Besides recording and playing live shows with many great musicians Toni has organized, charted and played bass for all of the artists appearing on the famed Bluebird Café Anniversary and Christmas Shows for the past 30 years.

When HiPower takes the stage, count on a stunning array of styles. The HiPower doesn't just sing the songs, the members have lived them. Hearing a bar band play a classic Rolling Stones song is one thing, but hearing the guy who actually played on Exile On Main Street is a different experience entirely. The band's energy is infectious, and with an extra dose of humor, dancing, and audience participation, every event is an action packed journey!
