Big Dog 3 Comin' Your Way! Chris Donohue and Brady Blade with a new album
Sunday June 14, 2009
Hi all. I'm pleased to be able to announce that the debut album from Al Perkins' Big Dog 3 has been completed, and will be in stores later this summer!
Following the success of our foray into Europe earlier this year, Brady Blade, Chris Donohue and I decided to get together and record a record. We had been invited back to England to appear at the Maverick Festival in July, and we thought it would be a 'kool' idea to record some of the songs we had been performing on our last tour. So we added in a few originals I have been meaning to cut for a little while, and invited some very special musical guests to help out!
We will have advance copies of the CD available at the European shows, where we will again be accompanied by our good friend Brigitte DeMeyer.
You can take a listen to tracks from the album, keep up to date with the tour dates and even find out where the band name came from on our website:

Back from Europe Twof Fingers of Firewater and Brigitte DeMeyer
Monday March 16, 2009
For the last two weeks I have been touring the UK in the company of a remarkable young British outfit by the name of Two Fingers Of Firewater.
These guys class themselves as 'Country Rock Revisionists' and they sure do play authentic country rock, and are as fine a bunch of musicians and people as you will find.
For the latter part of the tour we were joined by California's Brigitte DeMeyer and her formidable band members Brady Blade and Chris Donohue, who most will associate with Emmylou Harris. She is a very talented singer-songwriter and I was delighted to be involved in the recording of her new album Red River Flower, along with Brady, Chris and our good friend Buddy Miller.
Incidentally, we wish Buddy well and we are all looking forward to seeing Buddy 'back in business' sooner rather than later after his recent health problems!
We had a wonderful time across the UK with our 'revue' style show, which saw everyone joining in on stage at different times of the evening, ending up with a finale of everyone on stage playing any instrument that was to hand!
Brigitte heads to Austin for SXSW this week, and we hope to see you all there.
Tom Brumley Inspirational Steel Guitar Buckaroo
Thursday February 05, 2009
You will have all heard by now of the sad passing of a gifted and joyful man, and a truly inspirational character, Tom Brumley.
Tom was of course best known for his steel guitar work with Buck Owens and the Buckaroos from 1963 to 1969. Tom also worked with Rick Nelson for a long period of time, and was responsible for a catalog of fine recordings with a long list of major stars.
Tom will be sadly missed by us all and our thoughts are with his wife Rolene, and their family.
